Recipe: Bleu Turkey Burgers

Wow! I have taken way too long to do a new post! I have been busy with my practicum at the hospital and working in the evenings as well! Yesterday, the hubby and I and my mother in law did the Challenge of the Centuries bike ride. We finished with almost 44 miles! I'm not going to lie, the last 10 miles were tough. I've never been so happy to have a granola bar in my life and then I went on to have an awesome lunch (thanks Peggy!). We were all pretty pooped so we ended up resting for the rest of the day since the hubby had to work at 6am today.

But, let's move on and talk about a recipe that I have been obsessed with for the past two weeks. I think we have had turkey burgers (different variations) several times over the past couple of weeks. This recipe was inspired by another one of Bethenny's Recipes.

(yes, I know there is no bun...that's how I like

-1 package of LEAN Ground Turkey (make sure it is lean/breast) ~1 lb
-1 Tbsp Mustard (I used Dijon)
-1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce (Seriously, how do you pronounce that? I just say "worcestshshsherriiree")
-1/2 tsp pepper
-1/3 cups Bleu Cheese, crumbled
-1 Slice of wheat bread, shredded into small pieces

-In a bowl, mix all ingredients
-Make 6-8 patties
-Place patties either on a skillet or a grill

-Cook until done (~5-6 minutes each side)

I served them with Alexia's Sweet Potato Waffle Fries and a little tip about these: I usually only turn my oven to about 385 F and cook them for about 18 minutes (on a dark pan). However, all ovens are different, I just know that if I follow the directions on the package, they will burn in my oven.

  1. I think it's "worst-er-shy-er" or "worst-er-shir" depending on how you pronounce shire. Do you want to be LA as in Wilshire Blvd or British as in Devonshire? I like your pronunciation too though :)
