Random: Coupon Frenzy!

I've been clipping coupons for a few weeks now and just using them randomly when I need something. Well, today I decided to take all of those coupons that have accumulated and do one big buy. I chose to do it at Wal-Mart because their prices are already lower than other stores around here. Yes, I hate Wal-Mart. I have anxiety every time I go in that store. It's just so chaotic. Regardless, I wanted to see how much I could save. I only bought the 'non-food' items at Wal-Mart, then I went on to Publix for the groceries.

Now, I am far from those ladies on TLC who can get 1 million dollars worth of stuff for 2 cents. But, I was pretty proud of my haul and how much I saved. Let's just say we are set for a while! ;)

See those Sharpie pens? I'm obsessed with those. Only in blue and red though,  lol.

2 scope mouthwash
4 head & shoulders
1 noxzema facewash
2 olay facewash
2 packs sharpie pens
1 pk notebook paper
1 pack copy paper
1 binder
2 gillette body wash
2 Lysol auto toilet cleaner
2 covergirl mascaras
1 revlon brow liner
2 covergirl eyeshadows
2 covergirl foundations
2 pks gillette razor
2 pk Venus disposable
1 pk Mach disposable
1 pk sport wipes
2 pk tampax
2 advil
1 Bayer
2 Crest toothpaste
2 opti free Contact cleanser
1 package cascade dish detergent
2 Lysol bathroom cleaners
1 Lysol fabric mist
2 packages Lysol wipes
4 Lysol kitchen cleaners
2 soft scrub cleaners
and 1 pk toilet paper (not pic)

Whew. I think that's everything

It's pretty annoying that Wal-Mart doesn't put 'amount saved' on their receipts. Because I'm not going to sit here and add up every single dollar :/ What I can tell you is that the total was about $270 or so before my coupons and I only paid $191.88 after my coupons. So that's some pretty good savings to me! And it's stuff we actually use. DH laughed because most of it was for him and he now has a 'store' in his bathroom cabinet.

what? I'm not laying all of that out nice and pretty. I could barely get it all put away! ;)

I used coupons at Publix too. But, food coupons are just a lot harder for me. There doesn't seem to be many for foods that we actually eat. So, today I only bought things that were on sale and that I had a coupon for. According to the Publix receipt, I saved $42.75 ($31.15 from sales and $11.60 in coupons)

1/2 gallon Milk
1 package Jennie-O Ground Turkey
1 Ribeye Steak
1 large Chicken Broth
2 Bags Shredded Cheese
1 4-pack La Creme Yogurt
1 gallon Almond milk
4 Green Giant Simply Steamed, Green beans & Almonds
2 packages Ball Park Turkey Franks
1 Large Yoplait 32 oz
2 Trop50 Lemonade
3 Voskos Greek Yogurt
2 Cans Hunts diced tomatoes
1 Can red beans
5 bags Publix Vegetable Steamers <-- on sale for $1 each!!!!
1 6-pack Brawny paper towels
1 Barilla marinara sauce
4 Tilapia Fillets, Fresh
2 bags Romaine lettuce
4 Lara bars
2 Rice-a-roni
1 Lasagna noodles
2 packages strawberries
1 grape tomato package
1 Gnocchi package
2 Gerber Graduates Crunchies (don't judge me)
1 Large unsweetened applesauce
4 Oral B toothbrushes
1 Lysol Neutra Air
1 package Fettuccine noodles
1 package Rotini noodes
1 package Crystal Light Lemonade
1 dozen eggs
2 loaves Nature's Own Wheat Bread

The two things I was most proud of were the toothbrushes and the Crystal Light. I had a coupon for $2 off 2 Oral B toothbrushes. The toothbrushes were $1.39 each so I got them for 39 cents each!! Woo hoo! I had 2 coupons so I got 4 toothbrushes.

For the Crystal Light, it was buy one get one free at Publix and I had a coupon for $1 off. So they were $2 a piece and with the coupon it made it $1!

Couponing is fun! :)

Someone was asking me where I get the coupons. It took me a while to make my 'stockpile,' but I got them from newspapers, online and the actual stores. Our Publix takes coupons from Ingles and Kroger as well. Check out websites like southernsavers.com because they are very helpful!

I hope everyone had a great week!
