Operation: Smoothie Intervention

Can we talk about something? This seems to keep coming up this week. Let's talk about this:

Just pretend that you don't see it
I understand everyone's hesitation to put spinach in their smoothies. It does sound gross. And who wants to eat something that ends up looking like green moosh?

See?
But, you're just going to have to trust me. Unless you fill the whole thing up with spinach, you will never know it's there. Just think, you are getting all of these extra good for you vitamins, first thing in the morning no less, and you won't even realize it. Not to mention, if you have kids, what better way to get them to eat their veggies than to 'trick' them? The smoothie combination possibilities are endless. Endless I tell you. But, here is my go-to recently:

-1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (Only 35 calories, yo!)
-1 Tbsp Natural Skippy
-~1/3 to 1/2 cup Frozen Mango
-1/2 Frozen Banana (Must be frozen!)
-~1/3 cup Fresh Spinach

Just try it. I really don't think you will be disappointed...and if you are...then...I'm sorry? And let's talk about it. I'm sure we can find some combo that you will love! :)

  1. in general i am not a smoothie person, but i totally believe in the power of adding spinach. wondering how is unsweetened almond milk? i buy the original version. have you tried them both? how do they compare?

  2. Hey! You know, I was always hesitant to try the unsweetened version, but it was all they had at the store last week so I decided to try it. I honestly cannot tell a difference at all! However, I use it mostly for smoothies. I did use it yesterday and added chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk and it tasted just like regular/original almond milk in my opinion. Let me know if you try it! :)
