WIAW Official #12

We are so close to Spring Break! Only two more days people! I am so excited about this break. I am also so grateful that I am going to be able to actually enjoy it. Does anyone else have a break coming up soon?

WIAW Featuring Tuesday, March, 6, 2012:

Food:
Breakfast-
Before class this morning I made one of my good ole smoothies. I need to change up my smoothie mixture soon. Any suggestions?

1 Frozen Banana, Frozen Mango, Spinach, Skippy Natural PB, Unsw. Almond Milk, Flax Seed

Lunch:
After class, I was really craving my Skillet Gnocchi for lunch. Luckily, DH still hadn't left for his shift at work so we were able to eat lunch together. When you have crazy, inconsistent schedules, you have to do what you can with the time that you have together!

Kale, White Beans, Diced Tomatoes, Onion, Garlic Powder, Cheese

For the rest of the afternoon I worked on schoolwork and did laundry until it was time to go to work. I drank some hot green tea while working. I forgot how much I love Green Tea! I used to drink it every.single.day, but I haven't had it in a while.

Dinner:
After teaching, I stopped by the store for a few things and came home to do more laundry (does it ever end?). I wanted something fast, easy and light for dinner. I know some people eat lettuce because it's 'healthy' or they are on a 'diet.' But, I eat a lot of lettuce because I genuinely CRAVE it. I love lettuce. I love its texture. And I can mix it with everything. YUMMO.

Lettuce, Couscous, Trader Joe's Black Bean & Corn Salsa, Sunflower Seeds

Fitness:
I taught a 60 minute Cycle & Sculpt and a 60 minute Step & Sculpt class on Sunday. I took Monday as an 'off day.' Tuesday I taught a 30 minute Abs class and a 60 minute RIPPED  class.

We did:
Intervals, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, Resistance and Core.

What foods do you crave?

Check out the whole party at Jenn's!

  1. Smoothie variations are so much fun! I love beet + mango (and/or orange), sweet potato "pie," avocado-orange... is it weird that smoothies are my creative release? LOL!

You skillet gnocchi sounds soooo good. I need to try that! Happy WIAW!

  2. I never thought of the BP/Mango combination as part of a smoothie, but that looks delicious! The food I crave the most is definitely chocolate. Right now I'm craving a salad just like yours! Love TJ's salsa! I'm going to have to go stock up on some soon.

  4. I'm a fan of throwing whatever in smoothies.
Also if you want a slightly different flavour and not necessarily different ingredients - try adding flavour essences ;)

  9. i feel the same way about lettuce. i crave it - i need it. i swear if i miss one day without some type of salad the next day that is all i can think about it! and yes, it is healthy, but also like you i love that it is the perfect healthy base for absolutely anything. couscous on lettuce? yum! also by the way i bought a head of romaine because that is what you always eat to add to my spinach and it is fantastic (i mean i've had it before, but not in a while). going to start adding that to my salads for awhile i think...

  12. I'm the same way - I eat lettuce & salads all the time because I really just love it and have since I was little, not because I'm dieting. Your skillet gnocchi looks mouthwatering. Looks like I have something new to put on the menu soon :)

And that Skillet Gnocchi looks uh-mazinggggg. I bookmarked that recipe, I'm going to make it next week (need to get to the store first).

And I crave a good green smoothie, daily. I only started making them a few weeks ago, and I'm addicted and want it from the second I wake. I use natural PB, 3 ice cubes, a banana, 2 handfuls of spinach, 1/4 cup greek yogurt and 1/4 cup milk. YUMMY.
