Recipe: Easy Pita Pizza

Look. This isn't a groundbreaking 'recipe.'

My goal with my blog has always been to show people how they can eat 'healthier,' while showing them foods and recipes that have ingredients that are easily accessible and affordable (for the most part!).

With that said, let me introduce you to the easiest dinner you'll ever make.

I also must give credit where credit is due because DH actually made this for me the other night and then I became addicted and made it myself a couple of times. I am so glad that he knows how to cook because it makes life much easier.

-1 Whole White Pita (I used Toufayan)
-~1/8 cup Marinara Sauce
-~1/8 cup Low Fat Cheese
-Olive Oil or Pam Spray
-Garlic Powder
-Basil, dried
-Oregano, dried
-Pepper, ground black
-Optional: Dried, minced onions
-Optional: Add veggies!

-Preheat oven to 450F

-Place pita bread in cooking pan coated with olive oil
-Spread olive oil over pita (or spray with Pam)

-Sprinkle garlic powder, basil, oregano, dried minced onions, pepper (any seasonings you like!)

-Spread a layer of marinara sauce on top of pita

-Top with cheese (and veggies?!)

-Bake 5-8 minutes, until pita is browned and cheese is melted

Recipe: Spinach and Feta Turkey Sliders

I don't know about you guys, but I pretty much love anything that has spinach or feta in it. My DH finds my obsession with spinach/kale a bit strange, but he still loves me anyway.

-1 lb Jennie-O Lean Ground Turkey
-1 to 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-1/2 cup Fat Free or Reduced Fat Feta Cheese
-1/4 cup Egg whites
-1 cup fresh, chopped Spinach
-1 to 2 tsp Garlic, powdered
-1 tsp Ground Pepper

-Mix all ingredients in a medium or large mixing bowl
-Shape into small patties (I used a 1/3 cup measuring cup for most of them).
-Place in a heated and greased skillet until fully cooked

Tip: Do not cook the patties on a high temperature or too long because they will fall apart. I cooked them on a level 4 on my stovetop.
