Review: BodyBrite Oxygen Facial

Disclaimer: A friend owns this BodyBrite location and I offered to do a review of my experience.

What is an Oxygen Facial?

From the website:

In the DermaOxy O2 treatment, concentrated oxygen combined with five different herbal mixtures is sprayed on the face and décolleté. This cocktail penetrates deep and delights the skin, smoothing it from the inside out to stimulate blood circulation and cell renewal.

What happens?

The whole appointment takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. First, you come into one of the rooms and lay down on the chair/bed. You can take your shoes off or whatever you need to do to relax. They also cover you with a warm blanket. Next, they clean your face with a wipe to remove any makeup, etc. They gently exfoliate your face before they begin the actual oxygen treatment. The serum is applied first and then the oxygen. This is the part that takes a while because they cover every inch of your face very slowly and it is so relaxing!

How was it?

I have had 3 oxygen facials since last Fall and I love it! I would definitely go more often if I could afford to. Don't misunderstand, they are affordable, but I would want to go every week! They are always so relaxing and my skin feels so refreshed for days after the treatment.

Would you recommend it to a friend?

Absolutely! I already have! If you get a chance, you should definitely head to your nearest Body Brite and check it out!

After my facial last fall. No makeup!

Recipe: Banana Oat Bread

I helped host a bachelorette party this past weekend and I made some pretty delicious food (if I do say so myself!)

I basically used this recipe with some different dimensions and added old fashioned oats (and no nuts).

-3 ripe medium bananas, mashed
-1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
-1/2 cup sugar in the raw (or sugar!)
-2 flax seed eggs (1 Tbsp milled flax seed with 3 Tbsp water, each; OR 2 eggs; OR egg whites)
-1 tsp vanilla
-1 c wheat flour (OR white wheat flour)
-1 c AP flour
-3/4 c Old fashioned oats
-1 1/2 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

-Pre heat oven to 350F
-Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl and all wet ingredients in another bowl
-Mix dry and wet ingredients together slowly; it's going to look dry, but just make sure all of the dry ingredients become somewhat wet. If you need to, add a little water or applesauce.
-Pour into a greased bread loaf pan
-Bake for ~50 minutes
-Serve and devour
